Day 3: Cheyenne, Wyoming to Elko, Nevada

Today was a 665-mile day. We had hoped to get about another 200 miles in but figured it would be better to get a good night sleep. Tomorrow we will finish this first leg of our trip and make to my mother's home in Red Bluff, California. That is where I grew up from the age of 5 through high school graduation. I still have a brother and his family that live there, a sister and her family that lives about 30 miles north of Red Bluff, and a sister and her family that live in Reno, Nevada.

This week we will spend with my mother and then do our family reunion next weekend. It is always great to be able to see all of the family again. After the family reunion, we will start the third and final leg of our trip and head back home. We always take longer on this part and try to see a different part of the country.

Started our day off with breakfast at the Little America Restaurant.

This is what a lot of our day looked like through Wyoming and Utah. We saw quite a few Pronghorn Antelope, Deer, and Prairie Dogs.

As soon as we could, we stopped at an In-N-Out Burger. Definitely miss this in Ohio!

The Great Salt Lake

The Bonneville Salt Flats are out there, somewhere.
